CAF Confirms Details for 2026 World Cup Play-Off

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially released details for the upcoming continental play-off that will decide Africa’s representative in the FIFA Intercontinental Play-Off for the 2026 World Cup.


According to a circular signed by CAF Director of Competitions and Events, Samson Adamu from Nigeria, the decisive play-off will be held in Morocco, with team seeding based on the October FIFA Rankings.


This announcement comes just before Matchday 10, the final round of the African qualifiers. The play-off winner will have the chance to represent Africa in the intercontinental stage, where they could secure the continent’s potential 10th slot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.


CAF wished all remaining teams good luck as the qualification race nears its thrilling conclusion.
