 Story by UWINEZA Roger

South Sudan national football team head coach Nicholas Dupuis has been suspended for 15 days and told to stay away from the team. The decision comes after his post-match comments following the team’s 5–0 loss to Senegal.

According to reports, the South Sudan Football Association was not happy with the remarks Dupuis made after the match. The association said his comments were not respectful and went against team discipline.

During the interview after the heavy defeat, Dupuis expressed frustration about the team’s preparation and management. His words quickly spread online, causing mixed reactions from fans and football officials.

The Football Association released a short statement saying that Dupuis has been temporarily suspended and will not take part in any team activities during this period. They added that the suspension is meant to protect the team’s unity and restore discipline.

South Sudan’s assistant coach will take over the team for the next few weeks as they continue preparations for upcoming matches.

This is a big setback for South Sudan’s football program, which has been trying to improve its performance in African competitions.

The association said it will review Dupuis’s case after the 15-day suspension and decide on the next steps.
