Who Bears the Blame for Amavubi's Woes: The Players or the Coach?

 


Rwanda National teamAmavubi” hope of qualifying in World Cup expired after loosing their home game against Benin on Friday at Amahoro stadium.


Africa world cup qualifications found Rwanda national team in group C with Nigeria, Benin, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Lesotho.


Amavubi are currently on fourth place with eleven points and Benin national team is at the top of the table with 17 points, Benin national team also know as Les Guépards (The Cheetahs) got advantage of qualifying for the first time in World Cup after humiliating Amavubi on 1-0.


Rwandan fans come up with big debate after loosing the home game asking themselves if the problem in team is players who are not on level or if is the coach?


In the press conference Amavubi’s coach, Adel Amrouche said that: “Football without foundation is impossible” they are something that I can’t teach players and it requires process from their young age, what has to be is to prepare players from young age, He added.


James Nkusi a photo journalist at CNBC Africa shared his opinion on this, “Players need addition experience, they are working hard but there is something which continuously missing and if it changes they can make it.”


In last seven games, Rwanda has won only one game, draw one, and lost five games including friendly games.


Rwanda national team is now in South Africa to play there last game in group with “Bafana Bafana” game will take place  on Tuesday 14th October 2025 at Mbombela Stadium.
